QCB Governor: Law 'Important' for Organizing Various Aspects of Life 2012-05-05
HE Governor Qatar Central Bank (QCB) Sheikh Abdullah bin Saud Al Thani, who is also Chairman of the Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority has underlined the Qatar National Vision 2030 and its implementation strategy aim to develop the financial services sector by making this sector more flexible and by improving the performance of financial institutions in Qatar .
Speaking at a panel discussion entitled "The role of ethics and law in the financial system", HE the QCB Governor as chair of the meeting which was held within the activities of "the Qatar Law Forum," stressed the need to strengthen the legal system and legislations that govern all services and financial activities so that they keep pace with the latest global systems and practices in order to address the changes of global economy.
HE Sheikh Abdullah Bin Saud Al Thani said that necessary legislative measures have now been prepared to unify and promote the performance of the financial regulatory and supervisory bodies in Qatar within the framework of cooperation and coordination with a view to serving the higher goals of Qatar vision.
He underscored the key role of the law in organizing the various aspects of life and improving communities and their advancement in all fields, citing the business and finance sector as one of the most important of these areas, because of its close link to the economy and society movement and its stability.
